Alice in Wonderland - Reviews!
With the March 5th release date fast approaching, I don’t find it hard to believe that this movie is getting such good reviews; and not to mention good reviews from sources like The Hollywood Reporter! I somewhat lost faith when it came to THR after reading an extremely disappointing early review of last March’s blockbuster, Watchmen. The review was poorly researched, and almost seemed like the reviewer just skimmed through the book, and submitted a shotty book report not even worthy of a bored 4th grader! Harsh, I know. But I’m not the only one who was slightly angered by the review, considering it was taken off the site after commentors started threatening the poor guy who wrote it.
The moral? Never piss off a group of superfans.. because they, more than anyone skulk the internet, and WILL threaten to sneak into your house late at night and destroy your expensive Star Wars action figure collection by taking them out their original packaging!
Regardless, I actually don’t think that this remake will be a flop. If anyone were to do the remake of this classic, it’s Tim Burton. Considering the amount of Alice in Wonderland fans are probably also crazy Tim Burton fans. Like myself.
With what seems like a strong holding at 65% on Rotten Tomatoes with still a week to go before release, it seems like the remake of Alice in Wonderland could actually be really great, and for the first time since I heard of it’s existence, I’m actually super excited to see it!
We’ll see how I feel after this Saturday, however!
