Christina Aguilera covers Marie Claire!

Christina Aguilera covers Marie Claire magazine.

Quite an interesting article. About her weight gain, she says:

“I’ve been through my highs, I’ve been through my lows; I’ve been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend looooves my body. My son is healthy & happy, so that’s all that matters to me.”

Good for her, fuck the noise.

Dear Christina Aguilera…

Of course, your latest album “Bionic” flopped (even though I didn’t think it was bad - just bad timing…) and your movie “Burlesque” wasn’t a huge critical success (although, it did make quite a bit of money in the US and even more Internationally) and you’re now divorced (but have already found a new love) I don’t get what’s going on with your look.

The picture above, taken from the 2010 Golden Globe Awardsis absolute perfection. From the soft pink lips and dewy cheeks to the minimal eye & eyebrow make-up, this is just beautiful.

Of course, the hair. Oh the hair. It was perfect - demure, yet sexy.

PLEASE GO BACK TO THIS LOOK!!!!!!!!!

I don’t want to rag on you when the rest of the world is . So what, you forgot some of the lyrics to the National Anthem - at least you sing live! These things happen.

Love Dallas.

(Your new stylist any day)

Dear Christina Aguilera,

Dear Christina Aguilera X-Tina (Again),

I can’t remember the exact moment I first started liking you.  I was never really into pop music but something about your voice, look and bitchiness, I really liked. You seemed to not take shit from anyone and you weren’t afraid to tell people where to put it. Hell, I was even on MuchMusic’s show “FANdemonium” and was announced your biggest fan in Canada (and won $1000, so thanks!)

Let’s go wayyyy back to your self-titled debut album. It wasn’t awful - it wasn’t great, but damn could you sing. You belted songs out like nobody else in the pop generation. Looking back on the album, it did have a bunch of hits and it showcased a brand new, promising talent. Hell, you beat Britney Spears for Best New Artist at the 2000 Grammy Awards and only had one single out. Props.

Then came “Stripped”. This album was a shock to everyone. Just look at the cover art. You tried really hard to break away from the squeaky-clean pop image that was created for you and boy did you do it. This album was terrific. It was an honest and real album. The production of the album was phenomenal as well as your voice and writing. Working with Linda Perry and Scott Storch on this album really payed off.

Next was “Back to Basics” -  the album that turned your image around into Marilyn Monroe a 20’s, 30’s or 40’s style movie star. Everyone loved the ‘cleaned-up’ Christina and the album. It was very different from your “Stripped” days and thats what an entertainer should always be doing, evolving. You did it with this one and you did it well. The album was well received and had some great songs on it.

Now after four years hiatus, having babies and getting married you come back with “Bionic”.  I decided to give this record a chance. I’ll admit it, I really did think you were iamamiwhoami and was truly disappointed when i found out you weren’t. We’ve already understood that you’re a sexual woman who breaks all the rules. We’ve known you as X-Tina all the way back in your “Stripped” era. I realize the times are changing in the music business and I understand you’re trying to keep up with the electro/dance music craze but this album just isn’t doing it for me. There isn’t enough of your ‘voice’ on here and not enough originality. I’m not saying you’re trying to be Lady Gaga like everyone else thinks, because I don’t think that at all. I appreciate you trying to do something new and stepping outside your own comfort zone but again, it’s just not doing it for me. I don’t think the writing is strong enough and I don’t like the production of most of the songs.

Not to mention, the songs I do think stand-out; “Monday Morning” - “Birds of Prey” and the tongue-in-cheek “Bobblehead” are all not included on the US release of the album. Those are three of the best songs along with the M.I.A produced “Elastic Love”.

I will say, I think the cover art is phenomenal. I’d probably hang that shit on my wall, now if only the music on the album was as artistic, original and as interesting as the cover.

I know you’ve still got in in you - I look forward to seeing what else you’ll put out to the world.

Love,

Dallas

Christina Aguilera - “Elastic Love”

A sneak peek from the album artwork of Christina Aguilera’s new album “Bionic”.

LOVE IT.

PS. I dont care what anyone says, if I have a guilty pop pleasure, it’s Christina Aguilera. Girl can SANG.

Christina Aguilera - “Vanity”

“I’m not cocky, I just love myself. BITCH. Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who’s the flyest bitch of all - nevermind, I am. That bitch is so fucking pretty, If i were her - I would kiss me.”

I kind of expected something different from this album - but I would’t mind dancing to some of these tracks.

Christina Aguilera - “Monday Morning”

I’m loving her voice on this track. She’s not over-singing and the beat is pretty sweet.

What do you think of her new song?

Christina Aguilera Postpones Tour !

Christina Aguilera has cancelled her summer tour across North America!

Sources tell us that poor ticket sales are to blame, but Christina’s camp is claiming otherwise. They are saying the tour is merely “postponed” - until 2011! That’s more than a few months!

In a statement from Live Nation, the tour promoters, Aguilera announced the summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments she had to make for promoting her new album, “Bionic” and her upcoming film debut, “Burlesque”, which is slated for a November.

“The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” the statement read.

X-Tina gets upset at person coughing in her interview!!

During a recent interview to promote her new album “Bionic” Aguilera get’s angry at someone coughing on set. I don’t know how serious she is, but honestly, the right thing to do is ignore it and move on. Sheesh.

BIONIC TOUR!
Christina Aguilera will return to the stage this summer, when she kicks off a 20-date North American outing on July 15, tour producer Live Nation announced today (May 10). Leona Lewis, the British pop singer, will also appear on the dates.

My thoughts on the Christina Aguilera & Lady Gaga

Oh look at this.

Someone did a really great side-by-side comparison of Christina Aguilera’s new video for “Not Myself Tonight” to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.

Let’s start by saying these are two very talented female pop artists. Truely talented. I think these are two of the most original female pop artists that have come out in the last decade.

So why all of a sudden does it seem the world is pitting them against each other? Whatever happened to GIRL POWER?

Recently, M.I.A accused Rihanna of stealing her ideas for “Rude Boy” too.

Look at the first picture comparison. What is so significantly copied in the video? Could it be the colour red? Well hell, let’s compare every girl in any music video who wears the colour red.

On to the second comparison. A guy sitting on a bed. You know, Gaga wasn’t the first female artist to have a man sitting on a bed.

Third comparison. Multipe Gaga’s/Christina’s. Let’s not forget before Lady Gaga was even famous, Christina Aguilera had the video for “Candyman” which featured three of her.

Fourth comparison. The sunglasses shot. Isn’t this in every single pop/rap music video?

Fifth comparison. FIRE! Seriously? There’s never been fire in anyone else’s video other than Lady GaGa? Where have I been the last 25 years.

Sixth comparison. Who cares. Hand signals. So what? Aren’t they both just voguing anyway?

I’ve really stopped listening to pop music. I just can’t do it anymore. Most of it is such crap. These are two artists in pop music that I think are talented and sometimes, will put on my ipod.

Although I do feel the video is not Christina’s best work - I think she needed something people would talk about. After you’re out of the spotlight for so long, have had a baby and are trying to make a comeback when the indsutry has changed so much, you have to change with it.

Regardless, I’m going to give Christina’s “Bionic” record a chance. I like the fact she’s worked with M.I.A, Goldfrapp, Sia and Le Tigre.

Either way, both of these woman have been influenced by a certain icon in pop music; Madonna - and let’s not forget it.
