Rachel talks about living with her brother in Toronto:
“We each have our own kitchen and bathroom. It’s how married people should live! But the house is a lemon, so there are endless things to do there. It keeps me on my toes. The strongest community I have is in Toronto. I like being able to go to the same places and see the same people. My family’s close by. I get along with my neighbors. It’s really nice. I sometimes wish I did more career stuff and was in that Hollywood scene a bit more. But Toronto’s my home.”
I just love her. I also love the fact that she openly talks about her love of Toronto.

Alicia Silverstone in Vogue Magazine - May 2011
Alicia is such a beautiful being, I just love her.
Here is an article from VOGUE.com, May 2011.
“I have some guidelines when it comes to clothes, or anything really,” says Alicia Silverstone, celebrity authority on the vegan lifestyle. “First, I try to find it used so I’m not creating more waste. If I can’t find it used, I’ll make sure it’s made with an eco material. If I can’t find it in either of those categories, I’ll buy something regular. But I rarely have to do that.” Her no-waste philosophy is shared by Gregory Parkinson, who designed this dress made from recycled silk that’s hand-colored with environmentally friendly, water-soluble dyes.
Silverstone’s book, The Kind Diet, is a New York Times best seller; her blog, thekindlife.com has become a forum to discuss everything from Umeboshi plum vinegar to the best places to buy leather-free sneakers. In the meantime, she’s found a comfortable balance as an actor, performing to rave reviews on Broadway (most recently in Donald Margulies’s Time Stands Still) and finding small but meaningful parts in films. This year, she’ll be back on the big screen in Vamps (reuniting her with Clueless director Amy Heckerling); Butter, alongside Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman; and Homework, a Sundance favorite in which she plays one of Emma Roberts’s teachers.
There’s also her new role as mother-to-be (she’s due next month). As for baby gifts, she and musician husband Christopher Jarecki have asked for secondhand: “Something that was special to my friends when they were kids or special to their kids themselves.”
Pregnant Alicia Silverstone was in LA for a signing of her book; “The Kind Diet” (which also happens to be a New York Times Bestseller!)
This book came out awhile ago and has some really great, environmentally friendly recipes. It’s not preachy and I think it’s great for anyone dabbling in Vegan/Vegetarian lifestyle.
Alicia is glowing! Looking great.

Progress
Apparently Lindsay Lohan lets papparazzi in the gym with her while she takes kickboxing. Meh, whatever works.
Please note:
1) The red hair is coming back.
2) The little extra meat on the bones.
3) Her face is looking refreshed, young and beautiful.
4) She’s tanorexic no more.
My hopes might be coming true. We’ll wait and see.
Dear TIFF
Due to your online ticket purchasing system being down and your telephone system not working, I decided to wait in-line to get my boss and myself some tickets to a couple of the movies.
Not only did I wait THREE HOURS in line, IN THE RAIN, but once I finally got up to purchase my tickets, they were all SOLD OUT. Something your website never stated.
I was pissed and still am.
Here’s a few ideas on how to make things like this NOT happen to film-goers like myself.
1) Make sure your software is working correctly. You have a whole year to make sure things are working right.
2) Make your phone purchasing system easier and more available. Or at least have some form of automated message telling folks which tickets are SOLD OUT and which tickets are still available.
3) If people are waiting in a huge-ass line-up, maybe have some of your 400 voluneteers walk around and mention a few of the films have been sold out
4) Easiest option yet - UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE. Tell people there are no more tickets available.
All in all, you really suck TIFF.
Much Love,
Dallas.

Where did she go? Thoughts on Lindsay Lohan
Where did this vivacoiuous, curvy, bubbly, raspy-voiced, freckly, beautiful, talented young girl go?
I really have no reason for posting this other than the fact that I’ve been hoping for a Lindsay Lohan comeback. I don’t really LOVE any of her movies (other than “Mean Girls” and I’m really not a fan of her music (other than Kelly Anne and I listening to “Bossy” in my office every week). I just liked her. I remember her in interviews, that voice, the rasp, the freckles - she was unlike any other Hollywood celebrity. She had a charm. She was a good comedic actress and I wanted to be her best friend.
I have had faith that she would smarten up, break away from the negative influences in her life (including her parents) and get her life back in order much like Britney Spears did (and is continuing to do).
The sad part, Lindsay doesn’t have parents that want to help her get back on track. Her mother Dina persists that Lindsay is “fine” and her father is holding press conferences saying otherwise. Let’s be honest to Dina and Michael Lohan, Lindsay is NOT “fine” you can see it in her eyes and her weathered face. This is not an average 23-year old girl.
Who am I to come to this conclusion? Maybe she is really fine? Maybe, but I doubt it.
With all of her recent admitted struggles in the past (cocaine, alcohol abuse) going out to nightclubs every night isn’t something that someone who obviously has an addictive personality should be doing every, single, night.
I don’t know where I’m going with this post or why I’m writing about Lindsay Lohan on Easter Sunday. I’m just waiting for my parents to arrive.
There’s been many comebacks in Hollywood (think, Drew Barrymore) and many stars who just hit rockbottom.
I guess I just still see a glimmer, a speck of hope for Lindsay…do you?
